Nestor Rodriguez

At the Bicycle Thieves Project, we believe in the power of bikes to transform lives. One story that perfectly captures this belief is that of Nestor Rodriguez, a young rider who has become a symbol of hope and resilience.

Nestor's story starts when his family first moved to the United States. Their situation was tough. "When we arrived, the first thing my dad bought me and my brother was a Mongoose BMX bike," Nestor shares. "We didn’t even have a house yet. We were living in my uncle's living room. Every afternoon, my parents would take us to a park so we could forget about our problems and just have fun."

For Nestor, that bike was more than just a toy. It was a way to escape the stress and challenges his family was facing. "My dad gave me my first bike to help me escape the challenges we were dealing with," he says. "I had no home, just my bike and a park."

Today, Nestor is not just an avid rider; he’s a testament to the power of bikes. His journey fits perfectly with what we stand for at the Bicycle Thieves Project. We are committed to supporting young riders and giving back to our local communities. By sponsoring Nestor, we are supporting someone whose life has been deeply impacted by the very thing we champion.

Our mission is to use 20% of our sales to provide bikes to kids in need. It’s about more than just giving bikes; it’s about giving kids the chance to experience the freedom and joy that comes with owning a bike. Nestor’s story is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do and how a simple bike can make a big difference.

Through our partnership with Nestor, we are proud to support a rider whose journey inspires us all. Nestor Rodriguez’s story shows how bikes can bring hope and change, and we are excited to help more kids discover that joy.
